Starting January 1, 2023, Active members, non-Medicare retirees, and their spouses will be required to get an Annual Wellness Screening:
Active members and their spouses are required to undergo a primary care (wellness) screening or physical between October 1 and September 30 each year to maintain a lower deductible for the following plan year.
An annual wellness visit with your primary care provider or family doctor is vital for long-term wellness. Yearly wellness exams and immunizations are covered 100% for providers in the Aetna CPOSII network.
Here’s how you make sure you receive the no-cost wellness exam and preventive care:
- Make sure your provider is in the provider network by visiting aetna.com or calling member services at the number on your ID card.
- Learn about coverage for specific preventive services
- Make sure your yearly wellness visit is covered 100% by ensuring your provider is using these preventive medicine visit CPT codes and submit the billing to Aetna with the preventive office exam or preventive diagnosis Z code (for example Z01.411, Z01.419, Z12.4, Z12.72, Z12.73 or Z39.2).
